Ondes et Protection® designs and manufactures anti-EMF clothing in its own workshops in Occitanie, in the south-west of France. Protect Against Waves is the English-language store for that range: caps, beanies, scarves and headbands, t-shirts and leggings, maternity and children’s items, and shielding accessories.
Made in our own workshops
Our garments are cut and sewn by our own team, not bought in as finished stock. That is what allows us to keep control over the shielding layer, the seams and the finish of every piece — and it is also why we can take custom and made-to-measure orders. If the size you need is not listed, get in touch and we will tell you what is possible.
Silver where it shields, organic cotton where it touches your skin
Two different materials go into each garment. The shielding fabric owes its performance to metallic silver, present in a high percentage and interwoven directly with the other textile fibres rather than applied as a surface coating. The envelope fabric — the part you see and feel — is exclusively GOTS-certified organic cotton. In most of our headwear the silver layer is sandwiched between two layers of cotton jersey, so only cotton is in contact with your skin.
You can read the full technical detail on our protective fabrics page.
Independently tested, not self-declared
Our shielding fabrics are tested by the University Laboratory of the German Armed Forces. Measurements are made in accordance with ASTM D-4938-18, from 1 MHz to 4.5 GHz and from 7 GHz to 8 GHz, in one and in two layers of shielding. Attenuation values are published in decibels on each product page, so you can compare items on figures rather than on promises.
Protection you will actually wear
Shielding clothing only works while it is on. Ours is therefore designed as clothing first: wearable cuts, comfortable finishes and a choice of colours and patterns, so a protective cap or scarf does not have to look like technical equipment. That matters most in the situations where full protective clothing is impractical — at work, travelling, or as an extra layer under everyday clothes.
Before you order
Our size guide explains how to measure for headwear, and the FAQ covers the questions we are asked most often: coated versus woven shielding, what the dB figures mean, how to wash the garments, and how returns work. Anything else, our contact page reaches us directly.
